The U.M.W. will hold its February Unit Meeting on Wednesday, February 1, with a luncheon served by Rebecca Circle at 12:00 o’clock.
Glenice Brown, a team member of the Helping Hands Food Pantry at First English Lutheran Church will present a message on the
work they are doing to assist needy families.
Several years ago FUMC became a partner with them in this endeavor. Our donated family size food items and toiletries
are delivered to them, and they also distribute clothing.
To learn more about how we can become a more active “partner” in this grassroots endeavor to fight hunger and poverty,
join us for lunch on February 1. All women of the Church are invited.
YOUR NOMINATIONS PLEASE
Soon a specially selected committee will choose the persons to be honored as Mother and Grandmother of the year. The U.M.W. wants the whole congregation to share in making these selections. Please make your nominations in writing, giving your reasons for feeling this lady should be highlighted, and mail your nomination to U.M.W. President, Carol Perry, 2100 Fourth Ave North, Great Falls, Mt 59401. by March 1. It takes a little time to get the committee together to make the choices, and then to contact family members who will share in the secret and expand the information gathered for the presentations at the dinner, on SATURDAY, MAY 12.
A CHANGE OF PLANS! PLEASE NOTE……
We want to make everyone aware of a change the U.M.W. has made in the plans for the annual Mother-Grandmother Recognition Dinner. We have abandoned the Wednesday night dinner either one week before or after Mother’s Day in favor of having this celebration on the Saturday night, May 12, just before Mother’s Day. Families, often from out of town, like to gather around “Mom” on Mother’s Day and we believe this arrangement will make it possible for more family members to attend the dinner and celebrate with their mothers, daughters, and grandmothers.
Remember—men are also welcome at this dinner, and they can be the one to promote these special family gatherings.
The date again is SATURDAY, May 12.
